As a few of you already know, we (I) had a pregnancy "scare" last week. Not that another baby in itself would be terrifying, but the idea of paying for it sure would be. Two rather expensive tests later, we seem to be in the clear. Those things aren't cheap, either- I never thought I'd pay $15 to pee on a stick.
It would've been really strange timing, what with me just being used to the idea that Simon might be an only child- I say might because, well, maybe we'll win the lottery in the next few years or something. It's crazy how much I love that kid.
Right now Simon is watching "Mighty Machines", his current favourite. If he can find the DVD case he brings it over to whichever parent he can find and gives it to us. "Nnnnnn!" he says; and if that doesn't convince us that we'd really rather watch his show than those silly grown-up shows (or nothing), he adds, "A-zunz. Sna!" I love how he talks. It will be great when he's speaking English a bit more, but I'm going to miss his baby-talk.
"A-sanz snuh. Zuzzz. Wutta-wutta-wutta. Ha ha ha!"
He says a few words. A few days he ran into the kitchen, smacked the (cool) oven, yelled "HOT!", and ran back to the living room; I'm pretty sure he thinks the oven is called "hot", 'cause that's what I tell him when he wants to touch it. "Hot- ouch! Hot." He says "tat" (cat), "dug" (dog), and "Hadder" (Hilda, the dog next door). He loves Hilda. Whenever we're outside, he runs to the fence to talk to her, and she licks his fingers through the wires.
Well, I think I've neglected my kid long enough. It's another gorgeous day outside, and AJ's off work at 2, so I'm thinking that a trip to the park might be on the agenda for this afternoon. In the meantime, Simon has some new cars we might want to check out. Cutie.

PS- in case you're wondering: yes, I still have a stationary meteor on my face. It's less sore, but it ain't lookin' any purtier.
